Tucson is a brand new basket kit and is woven with waxed
polyester and waxed linen. It has glass beads, metal beads.
and copper discs. It is for the more advanced weaver.
Your skill level should be where you can control the tension
between spokes, the shape and that you have twined a
number of other waxed linen baskets. The basket has 96
spokes of waxed polyester and is mostly twined with the
waxed polyester. The basket is 3-3/8" high and 4" across
at the widest point. The opening is 2-3/4" across. All the
beads slide on to the spokes and the weaving that follows
create the puckers to give the basket it's unusual shape.
After the basket is finished, silk ribbon is then stitched in
to create the zig-zag at the top of the basket. It has been
hand painted with dye to give it the variegated colors.
